EXPOSITION
[L:142] Exposition is one method of synthetic definition, opposed by Kant to construction. Exposition is exposition "of the appearances...the synthesis of empirically made concepts, that is, of concepts made out of given appearances as their matter. Construction is the method of mathematical definition; it involves "the synthesis of arbitrarily [freely] made concepts.
