ONTOLOGICAL PROOF
[A592/B620] A type of argument for the existence of God, distinguished from the physico-theological proof. The ontological proof is a proof about "the concept of an absolutely necessary being"; e.g., Anselm's is an ontological proof. Kant argues for the impossibility of an ontological proof of the existence of God.
